Bank of America keeps no branch in Texas City, one of the 150 TX cities in this guide that holds none of the bank's 313 locations statewide. TX consumers have filed 12,923 CFPB complaints against it, 3,180 of them since January 2025. One customer's experience, mine, set beside what the bank measurably looks like in Texas City.
Bank of America's footprint in Texas City
The FDIC has no Bank of America branch on file in Texas City. Statewide, BoA operates 313 branches across TX, concentrated in places like Houston (48 branches), Katy (8 branches), Spring (5 branches). For a Texas City customer that is the single most important practical fact on this page: your Bank of America relationship is effectively a remote one.
Remote-only changes what to plan for. Cash deposits mean an out-of-network ATM or a trip. Anything a bank normally resolves face to face (a signature guarantee, a notarised form, a contested charge that a representative wants to "see in branch") has to be handled in writing or by travelling. Before opening or keeping an account here, it is worth checking whether a bank with local branches, or one built to be fully remote, fits Texas City better.

Branch counts are Bank of America locations on file with the FDIC (certificate 3510) under each city label; New York City and its boroughs are counted by FDIC county. Postal city labels do not always match municipal boundaries, so treat a zero as "none on file under this city label".
What I observed (security and password resets)
I have been forced, in my own account experience, to change my password multiple times per week. On some weeks the prompt returned several times in the same week. I was not given a clear explanation, and I could not identify any real security incident on my end. To me this is friction, not security. Modern fintech banks bind devices, default to hardware-key 2FA, and do anomaly detection in the background. What I experienced felt like the cost of that calibration was passed back to me.
If repeated lock-outs leave you unable to bank digitally in Texas City, there is no local branch to fall back on, the FDIC has no Bank of America location on file here, so re-verifying your identity means a phone queue or a trip.

What TX customers report, and where Texas City sits in it
Texas City holds none of the 313 Bank of America branches in TX, which puts it 142nd of the 150 TX cities in this guide. Against that footprint, TX consumers have filed 12,923 CFPB complaints against Bank of America, 5,476 since January 2023, 3,180 since January 2025, or about 41 lifetime filings for every branch the bank runs in the state.
"Checking or savings account" leads the TX file at 3,946, then "Mortgage" at 2,316; the most-reported issue is "Managing an account" at 2,325. Complaints are recorded by state, not by city, so none is tagged to Texas City, but they describe the same institution, and a filing of your own with dates and amounts attached is what turns one account's problem into a pattern.
