Anthropic builds Claude, an AI assistant marketed as a safer and more privacy-conscious alternative to ChatGPT. Founded by former OpenAI researchers Dario and Daniela Amodei, Anthropic has positioned safety and responsible AI development as core differentiators. The company's Constitutional AI approach trains models to be helpful, harmless, and honest through a novel alignment technique. However, Anthropic faces many of the same data challenges as competitors. Claude processes user conversations that may contain sensitive personal, business, and medical information.
